About Us

Hi. Nice to meet you. Kevin and Leah here, and we have to say that we’re thankful that you’re taking a moment to learn a little bit more about who we are, where we’ve come from and where we’re going.

We’ve come from Ohio, from fairly rural parts, and now we live in Birmingham, England’s second city. We’ve worked with a small group of people (more) to begin a unique and exciting place called Canvas (more) in the heart of the Birmingham University student community. It’s a place of love, grace and acceptance, a place that we think is making a huge difference, not only for students at the university but for the wider community surrounding the Canvas House.

We both graduated from Kentucky Christian University and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana after marrying in 2003. Kevin join the staff of Central Christian Church in Carmel, Indiana as the Worship and Arts Minister. We involved ourselves with an inner city organization in Indianapolis called Outreach (more)Â that works hard to care for homeless and at-risk youth in the city. Our experiences with Outreach pushed us. A lot. They pushed us so much that we decided to get involved with Christian Missionary Fellowship, an organization that participates in humanitarian and life-changing work all across the globe. We signed up and moved to a new country less than a year later to work with Canvas. That was over three years ago. Three years of adventure. Three years of amazing stories.

It’s all a part of our constant journey (more), our on-going efforts to keep living life fully, to keep taking risks and to keep working hard for the faith we believe in.
