The Cooksey Family on the Miller-Cooksey Camping Trip Extravaganza
We’re so excited about this week! Two of our good friends from central Indiana are coming to visit us and see this great place we call home. They’ll be with us for a week and we’re going to do some traveling together around this great country.
We’ve hired a car and together we’ll travel to Wales and Scotland to see some of the things that they have been hoping to see. We’ll see the section of Birmingham in which we live and work and we’ll even spend some time with some of our British friends - so Matt and Sharyn can ask all of those funny questions that we asked about 9 months ago.
We’ll be meeting them this afternoon at New Street Station and we can’t wait to experience that reunion of friends after much time has passed. We’re grateful for the blessing of long time friends and can’t wait to show them all that God is working out in this great place.
A tremendous trip indeed. We never cease to be amazed at the blessings God had put in our lives, in this case, the blessing of seeing these places with our very own eyes. One can surely sense a profound sense of history, and majesty and peace in these places in England. What a rich and diverse landscape and what an amazing trip.
To share the trip with you, we’ve got a series of videos and many photos. Here’s a quick hello from us:
There are three videos in the CONSTANTjourney video section, that you’re going to want to see. Breathtaking views from two of the three locations of our trip (St Ives and Lands End). You’re not going to want to miss these. Click here to visit videos.constantjourney.com to check them out.
Beyond that, we’ve got a load of photos here that we hope you’ll enjoy. Everything from the ocean to the Ancient Roman Baths, this album is filled with great images. Take a look:
St Ives, Bath, Lands End, beautiful places that brought us relaxation and peace for this our Anniversabirthdaycation. Here’s a little history if you’re wanting to dig deeper: St Ives | Bath | Lands End.
Tomorrow, Leah and I are headed out of town for a few days to relax, recover and celebrate. Our fifth anniversary is coming up this September and there’s a good chance that we’re going to be busy with Canvas stuff about then, so we’re headed out now. We’ve hired a car and we’re just going to drive, heading down to the Southwest part of the country into places like Cornwall, Bath, and St. Ives. We may even try and hit Stonehenge, depending on how relaxed and recovered we feel and how much we’d like to try and fit in. It’s all easy going; we’re going to go and stop when we want…and keep the planning to a minimum.
It’s a welcome break as we really have been going non-stop with tiny recoveries here and there - enough to keep going. But this one should be a big recharge, a preparation for the coming days of our next year with Canvas. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been here for eight months and yet, here we are, ready to take a break after a time that has exceeded our expectations and work that has been hard and tremendously rewarding.
