Today I’m off to spend a day in discussion with Alan Hirsch and a group of master-class students. We’ll be talking about topics related to Alan’s newest book The Forgotten Ways.

Alan Hirsch

He has co-authored a book called The Shaping of Things to Come with Michael Frost (see all CONSTANTjourney posts about Michael Frost), who is responsible for the book I have found to be completely inspirational, Exiles: Living Missionally In A Post-Christian Culture (see all CONSTANTjourney posts about this book).

I realize there are a lot of links in that previous paragraph; sorry about that. I’ll post some stuff here when I return to highlight some of what I’ve learned from our talks.

I have finally finished the wordy and wonderful, “Exiles: Living Missionally in a Post Christian Culture” by Michael Frost. This is the book that I have previously written about:Here. | And Here.It has been a book that has gotten to me on many deep levels and has frustrated me in others. It started off beautifully; it said so many things that changed my perspectives, challenged me, encouraged me, and let me know that I wasn’t alone in my thought processes and observations.  Read the rest of this entry »

I’ve had a “day-off” as it were here in our stint of support-raising in Ohio. I’ve spent a large part of the day diving into the book I mentioned and quoted in a previous post entitled, “Exiles: Living Missionally in a Post-Christian World,” by Michael Frost (Click here to view this post from May 17). It’s been a good day for me. Reading the hard things that challenge me and reading the things that give me hope that there are people out there who think like I do has been very…energizing.
